A huge congratulations to the U16 Blue Mountains boys who have secured a spot in the Football NSW State Cup final with a thrilling 2-1 victory over West Pymble FC at Berowra Oval. The match was intense from the start, with West Pymble applying early pressure that was well defended by the Blueys. As the game progressed, Blue Mountains eased into the game and began to take control of the chances.
Goals either side of the half from Will Weir and Rhett Goman put Blue Mountains in the perfect position to see out the game. West Pymble halved the deficit to put the NFA side under pressure throughout the closing stages. However, some brilliant saves from Jarrod Drake and impressive defending from the boys ensured they stayed on top until the final whistle.
