Marshals

At the Nepean Football Association (NFA), we are committed to creating a safe, enjoyable, and respectful environment for every participant—players, coaches, referees, and spectators alike. Our Registered Marshals play a vital role in helping us uphold these values across all matches and venues.

What is a Registered Marshal?

A Registered Marshal is an accredited team representative who assists in managing sideline behaviour, and promoting positive sportsmanship. Marshals serve as a visible presence on game day—encouraging respect, preventing conflict, and helping ensure that football remains fun for everyone.

The Role of a Marshal

Registered Marshals help by:

  • Supporting referees by promoting safe and respectful conduct
  • Monitoring spectator behaviour and addressing concerns early
  • Encouraging a family-friendly and inclusive environment

Why Marshals Matter

Football thrives when the sidelines are supportive and safe. Marshals help maintain this atmosphere by being proactive, approachable, and aligned with the NFA’s vision for community football.

Their presence helps reduce conflict, ensures smoother match day experiences

Thank You to Our Marshals

We are grateful to every Registered Marshal who volunteers their time to support the game. Your dedication, and calm presence are essential to the success of football across the Nepean region.

To support you in your role, the association has created a training program. This is mandatory training and must be completed before 12 April. This will ensure everyone is confident, prepared, and aligned with the expectations of the Marshal role for the season ahead.
