This coming weekend will see the completion of the regular Winter season for most 6 and 8 team competitions. After this weekend 27th & 28th July, we head into the Championship Tournament Series (CTS) for the 6 & 8 team competitions.

The CTS is played in a round robin format for 6 and 8 team competitions, and a top 4 semi-final for 10 team competitions.

10 team competitions will complete their regular competition games on the weekend of 3rd and 4th August.

For more information about the CTS and to understanding how the matches are formatted, CTS Format.

6 and 8 team competitions (with the exception of Intermediate Men’s Division 1) can expect to see games scheduled for the following dates:

  • 27th/28th July – Championship Tournament Series Round 1
  • 3rd/4th August – Championship Tournament Series Round 2
  • 10th/11th August – Championship Tournament Series Round 3
  • 24th/25th August – Finals (31st Aug/1st Sep Spare Weekend for Finals washout)

We’ve seen many teams lose points recently for not adhering to upgrade regulations.  Please note the following;  when using players from younger age groups or lower divisions in Championship Tournament Series matches, please remember that upgrade counts are re-set at the start of the series, BUT, you can only use a player who has been used previously during the season as an upgraded player in the CTS.

This regulation carries a Loss of Points to teams who breach this rule.  If you’re in doubt about a prospective upgraded player’s eligibility, speak to your club admins.  They have access to a weekend warrior who will assist with enquires, but you can’t leave this to the last minute.  Sorry, this number is not available to the general public, but the answer is just at the end of the phone, so don’t risk losing the points for your team by not checking first.  IF IN DOUBT, DON’T UPGRADE THE PLAYER.

Other upgrade rules apply, such as player cannot play more than two years above their age (not age group!!!!).  Club admins all have access to Competition Regulations, as do all members, they are available on our website or you can get to them by clicking here and selecting Competition Regulations.

The Nepean FA Finals Day is just around the corner and we have some very important information regarding the day in which we would like to share.

First, the Finals weekend for 2019 is scheduled for the 24th and 25th August. In the event of wet weather, we have a spare weekend allocated which is the 31st August and 1st September.

Second, whilst the game times have not been finalised for the weekend, we have developed a draft of what the weekend should look like.  This will be distributed by the last week in July, giving most teams a month’s notice of roughly when they can expect to play if they’re in a final.

Third, only players who have upgraded in the Championship Tournament Series may upgrade on Finals Day. The association has a copy of all upgrade eligibility and these will be closely scrutinised on the day.

We will have more information closer to the day and we will send out information to finals day participants.
